With his latest 42 points, James also created a record in NBA history to become the oldest and the youngest star in the league to score 40 points.

LeBron James delivered a dominant performance with 42 points, 17 rebounds, and eight assists, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 120-112 victory over the Warriors. Los Angeles held on to secure its fourth straight win.
James who joined the Lakers in 2018, is now 40 but at his age, he is still delivering wonderful shows. Certainly, James, arguably, the greatest of all time, has a few years in his sleeves to add more stunning performances to his already acclaimed resume.
James also made history once again, becoming the oldest player ever to score 40 points in an NBA game. Interestingly, he also holds the record as the youngest to do it. At 40, he continues to defy all the expectations, proving age is just a number.
The only other player to drop 40 past 40? Michael Jordan, the legend to whom James is constantly compared. With every milestone, LeBron strengthens his case as one of basketball’s greatest.
Adding astonishing numbers to the scoreboard was not the only thing James did in the game against the Warriors. The Crypto.com Arena crowd launched stunning cheers and ovation as they hailed the King James.
The 21-time NBA All-Star also hit six of his nine three-point attempts. His shooting display included a thrilling sequence of three straight triples. But his logo-range shot to the basket stole the show and propelled the crowd to erupt with loud cheers.
"What do I think? That I'm old," James said after claiming his latest feat. "The biggest thing is that we got the win...throughout my journey, anytime I've been named or in the category or crossed passed with any of the greats is always humbling," he told the press.
Austin Reaves added 23 points, while Gabe Vincent knocked down five three-pointers to help the Lakers stay hot, winning 10 of their last 12 games.
Stephen Curry put up 37 points for Golden State, but James stole the show, especially in the second quarter when he scored 18 points to fuel the Lakers' surge. The Warriors mounted a late rally, cutting into the deficit, but it wasn’t enough to stop Los Angeles from pulling out the win.
